Constantia Shul was established in 1981.  The Shul does not have its own building and we operate in the hall of the Herzlia Constantia Primary School.    

The spiritual leader of the Constantia Hebrew Congregation is Rabbi Kalman Green.

Constantia is an Orthodox Shul and the Nussach of the prayers is Ashkenaz.  We have a committed membership of both young and older families.  Services take place daily.

The atmosphere in the Shul is heimishe.  We do not employ a Chazan during the year and services are led by members of the Shul.  Our congregants are encouraged to participate in all aspects of Shul services and to deliver occasional Divrei Torah.

It is a family Shul and the children and youth are the backbone of the community.  We have regular children and youth services and encourage the youngsters to lead portions of the service.  Membership entitles the whole family to Yom Tov seats, including all children over the age of three.

We are a highly active congregation.  We produce a weekly newsletter and special Holiday guides.  There are regular adult education talks and Shiurim and special activities such as Shabbatonim several times a year.

The Constantia Hebrew Congregation is affiliated with the Union of Orthodox Synagogues of South Africa.
